Experience the culture of Bali with a night of puppetry at the University of Pittsburgh. An Evening of Balinese Shadow Puppet Theater: Tales from the Ramayana uses a traditional art form to depict the ancient, epic story of Rama, a legendary prince of the Kosala Kingdom. The performance includes puppetry by Ida Bagus Anom Suryawan, Ida Ayu Kumalayoni, and Gender Wayang, music by Meghan Hynson, Yang Shuo, Wangcaixuan Zhang, and Annie Valdes, and a pre-performance lecture by Dr. Meghan Hynson. The event will take place in the Frick Fine Arts auditorium.
