Become a SKYWARN Storm Spotter

Since the 1970s, the National Weather Service’s SKYWARN program has trained storm spotters to identify and report severe thunderstorms, allowing the NWS to issue timely public warnings for extreme weather events. Come learn about storm development and formation, severe weather safety, and how to report a severe storm. People who work with hospitals, schools, churches and nursing homes, or as home caregivers are especially encouraged to become a spotter.
