Artist Katherine Mickle takes inspiration from the barren landscapes of South Dakota’s Badlands National Park, full of miles of dry terrains and erosion, for her exhibit Between A Rock & A Hard Place. The Slippery Rock University associate professor of art’s mixed-media pieces incorporate photography, drawing, and video to compare and contrast the badlands during different times of the year.
