Bill Bellamy

Starting with his early days on Def Comedy Jam — where he was credited with coining the phrase “booty call” — Bill Bellamy has spent some three decades and counting as a comic star of stage and screen. Good-natured, with rubbery physicality, he charms with bits like one on childhood games: “We use to really believe when we played freeze tag we was frozen. Kids be, ‘What’s wrong with that boy?’ ‘He froze. That’s a deep freeze, he ain’t gonna be able to get out of that for two hours!’” Bellamy does standup at the Pittsburgh Improv for five shows starting tonight.
