Join us for food, art, education, and fun as we celebrate the holiday that commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Come enjoy delicious soul food from Carmi; show off your skill tossing beanbags and horseshoes; learn about local Black church history from Ashley Askew of Carnegie’s Second Baptist Church; get creative with crafts led by members of Carlynton’s Black Student Union; and keep an eye out for the announcement of a special surprise guest! This fun festivity offers something for all ages, and will take place outdoors if weather permits.
