A multi-media evening of film, lecture & live music celebrating Pittsburgh’s own Mary Lou Williams, bebop jazz pianist & jazz legend. Performances by Samuel Okoh-Boateng is the pianist (PhD student in Jazz Studies at Pitt)& Danielle Maggio is lecturer/vocalist (PhD student in Ethnomusicology at Pitt)Also a screening of Mary Lou Williams: The Lady Who Swings the Band with lecture.
