After a few years of relative silence, Elvis Depressedly is hitting the road and releasing new music in 2019. The North Carolina group was last heard from on 2016's Holo Pleasures/California Dreamin', a beautifully intimate lo-fi record that would sound right at home next to Olivia Tremor Control, Sandy Alex G or Foxes in Fiction — not exactly a coincidence, since the latter two were previously labelmates of Depressedly on Orchid Tapes. If you're unfamiliar, start with the instrumental "Thinning Out" or 2012's "Prison Line (So Lovely)." Better yet, catch a mix of old and new material at Smiling Moose, alongside Niights and The Cordial Sins.
