Pittsburgh Architecture Week - Presentation and Discussion: Adaptive Reuse: Seeing our Old Buildings in New Ways
Uploaded by clairekunkel
When: Wed., Sept. 28, 5:45-7:15 p.m. 2022
The most sustainable building is the one that already exists. AIA Pittsburgh and the Green Building Alliance reveal the multiple layers of value many of our old buildings embody. The venue for our talk, MuseumLab, is a quintessential example of an existing, abandoned structure that was reborn as a uniquely beautiful, high-performance building—without sacrificing its historic and aesthetic integrity. Our presentation will briefly outline the critical themes that define successful adaptive reuse, and then engage the audience in lively discussion as we demonstrate how the MuseumLab exemplifies architectural renewal. Light refreshments will be served.
