Rumput – An Evening of Music and Scrolling Panorama from Pittsburgh to Java

This show will feature Pittsburgh-based artist Katy Dement and a (mostly) Richmond-based performance group called Rumput. Both artists will be sharing a style of scrolling panorama artwork called crankies. Katy will collaborate with poet, Alex Ward. Rumput performs innovative string band music along with crankies and shadow theater. The group will be premiering two new commissioned works from scrolling panorama artist Dani Iswardana and musician Danis Sugiyanto, both of whom are from Java. 100% of proceeds for this evening will go to musicians in Java for covid relief.
