As part of Carnegie Mellon University’s International Film Festival, “Scarred Hearts” is inspired by Romanian author Max Blecher's novel of the same name. The film follows Emmanuel, a 20-year-old suffering from bone tuberculosis is admitted to a seaside sanatorium in 1937.
