Scene Study (Grades 7-12) Pittsburgh Public Theater

Scene Study with Pittsburgh Public Theater's experienced teaching artists in this half-day afternoon summer session for students in grades 7 through 12. Campers will dive into the exciting world of theater, discovering the art of bringing characters to life through in-depth scene analysis, exploration, and performance. In this immersive and dynamic class, students will explore scenes from classic and/or contemporary plays, learning the techniques and strategies used by professional actors to create compelling, nuanced performances. Through a combination of group exercises, discussions, and individual coaching, students will learn how to dissect a scene, uncovering its underlying themes, motivations, and conflicts.
