Showcase of Brazilian Cinema: Manas (Sisters)

The 2nd annual Showcase of Brazilian Cinema brings two film to the Harris, and tickets to either serve as admission to special 7pm intermission! Arrive early to Manas [screening begins at 8PM] for a performance from Brazilian musicians Lais & Andre and light refreshments from chef Keyla Nogueria of Mercearia Brasil! Set in a corner of Brazil that remains mostly untouched by the modern world, this is the earnest and moving tale of Marcielle, a young victim of abuse who yearns to find a way out of a hostile home and a village that has resisted change for generations.
