Showcase of Brazilian Cinema: Where Are You, João Gilberto?

The 2nd annual Showcase of Brazilian Cinema brings two films to the Harris, and tickets to either act as your admission to a special intermission performance of Brazilian music from Lais & Andre and light refreshments from chef Keyla Nogueria of Mercearia Brasil! Celebrated Brazilian musician João Gilberto (1931 – 2019) is considered the founding father of the bossa nova. Adapted from the book Hobalala by German journalist and author Marc Fischer, this documentary sets out in search of the legend of modern music. A masterful project that passionately brings an important figure of Brazilian music back into focus.
