The Right to Choose in Ireland: How Socialists Built a Movement and Won Legal & Free Abortion

Join Socialist Alternative in welcoming Myriam Poizat, an organizer with the Socialist Party in Ireland, to discuss last year's massive victory for abortion rights and the next battlefield for women’s equality in Ireland! Through an organized movement of working women, LGBTQIA and young people, ROSA and Socialist Party activists connected the right to choose with the right to healthcare, a living wage, and the fight against capitalism, while staging direct actions that flouted anti-abortion laws. This campaign offers major lessons on how we can defend and extend access to reproductive rights in the U.S.! Scaife Hall, Room 125. Childcare provided.
